Products
What products does First Starch supply?
We supply a full range of starches and flours: tapioca, modified tapioca, corn, wheat and potato starch; wheat flour and rice flour; plus food additives and functional ingredients. Other starches and flours can be sourced to specification.
What is the difference between native and modified starch?
Native starch is extracted without chemical modification, keeping its natural properties. Modified starch is chemically or physically altered for specific functions such as heat, acid or freeze–thaw stability. We supply both, sourced to your target specification.
What industries and applications do your products serve?
Food manufacturing (noodles, sauces, snacks, bakery, processed meat) and industrial uses (paper, textile, adhesive). Different starches and flours suit different applications — tell us your use and we will recommend suitable options.
Specifications
Can I get specifications and a Certificate of Analysis?
Yes. Full specifications and a Certificate of Analysis (COA) are available on request for each product. Send us the product and intended application through the RFQ form and we will provide the relevant documentation.
Company
Is First Starch a trader, an importer, or a manufacturer?
All three. First Starch International is one of Thailand’s original starch & flour traders (since 1979) and a large-volume direct importer. The group also manufactures: our sister company, TQ Industry Starch, runs a native tapioca starch factory in Sa Kaeo. So we import, export and manufacture across the range.
How large is First Starch, and do you have your own factory?
The group traded 43,599 MT of starch and flour in 2024 and holds large warehouse stock for continuous supply. Yes — the group’s own factory, TQ Industry Starch in Sa Kaeo, produces native tapioca starch at approximately 150 tonnes per day.
Where is First Starch located?
First Starch International is in Bangkok: 49 Bang Bon 4 Road, Bang Bon Nuea, Bang Bon, Bangkok 10150. The group’s factory, TQ Industry Starch, is in Ta Phraya, Sa Kaeo Province.
Ordering
What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
MOQ depends on the product, packaging and destination. Please send us your requirement and we will provide a precise quotation.
What are your typical lead times?
Because we hold large ready stock, many orders can ship quickly. Exact lead time depends on order size, packaging and destination, and is confirmed with your quotation.
Which Incoterms and payment terms do you accept?
We supply both domestic and export customers. Incoterms (e.g. FOB, CIF) and payment terms are arranged per order — please ask and we will confirm with your quotation.
Can I request samples before placing an order?
Yes. Submit a request through our RFQ form with the product and application, and we will arrange a sample. Sample policy is confirmed per request.
Logistics
What packaging options are available?
Typically 25 / 30 / 50 kg bags and FIBC jumbo bags (e.g. 500 / 850 kg). Custom packaging and private labelling may be available on request.
Do you deliver nationwide and export?
Yes. We distribute across Thailand and export to buyers abroad. Export ports and routing are arranged to suit your destination and confirmed with your quotation.
Quality
What quality certifications do you hold?
First Starch International is certified to ISO 9001:2015 (scope: the provision and trading of starch, modified starch, flour and food additive) and holds Halal certification from the Central Islamic Council of Thailand. The group’s manufacturing arm, TQ Industry Starch, is FSSC 22000, HACCP and GHP certified. Full certificates are available on request.
