A 40-year starch & flour group — importer, exporter, manufacturer

First Starch International is one of Thailand’s original large-volume starch & flour traders, established in 1979. Today the First Starch Group is fully integrated — importing, exporting and manufacturing a complete range of starches and flours.

Our story

First Starch International began in 1979 as a starch & flour trading house in Bangkok, serving food manufacturers, distributors and industrial buyers. Over four decades it grew into a large-volume importer sourcing directly from world-class mills. As quality and supply security became decisive, the family integrated vertically — founding TQ Industry Starch, the group’s own native tapioca starch factory in Sa Kaeo. The journey: from trader, to importer and exporter, to manufacturer.

The First Starch Group

The group brings together two companies. First Starch International (Bangkok) is the trading, import and export arm — handling the full range of starches and flours. TQ Industry Starch (Sa Kaeo) is the manufacturing arm — a native tapioca starch factory producing to FSSC 22000 standards. Together we control the chain from multi-origin sourcing, through large-volume stock, to nationwide and export delivery.

What we supply

  • Starches: tapioca, modified tapioca, corn, wheat, potato
  • Flours: wheat flour, rice flour
  • Food additives & functional ingredients
  • Other starches & flours sourced to specification

Scale & reliability

In 2024 the group traded 43,599 MT of starch and flour. Multi-origin sourcing means supply never depends on a single crop or region; large warehouse holding keeps stock ready; and our own tapioca manufacturing gives genuine security of supply on tapioca. Commercial terms — MOQ, lead time, Incoterms and ports — are quoted on request.
